Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Winston Alpacca.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas shoots in looking for a takedown but Akashi manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Thomas's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Thomas has Akashi pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Thomas pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Akashi tumbling to the mat - Thomas dives into Akashi's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close round but Seijuro Akashi will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Thomas postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Akashi bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Thomas's guard.

Akashi reaches up to try and control the position but Thomas seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Akashi rolls and tries to escape and now Thomas has his back!

Will Thomas go for the finish here or will he try and keep control of the position?
Thomas is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Akashi knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Akashi for a finish.
Thomas has his arm under Akashi's chin here. Game over son! Thomas squeezes tightly and Akashi is forced to tap out!
