Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Granville Fortier!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Sergi Vodkf!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Steve Smith and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fortier displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vodkf.
Fortier definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Vodkf looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Vodkf gets caught napping as Fortier dives in and scores a takedown. Vodkf manages to retain guard.
Fortier scoring with some ground and pound.
Fortier wants to stand but Vodkf is controlling his posture from full guard.

Fortier is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Fortier seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Vodkf for as long as he can get away with.
Fortier has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Fortier is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Granville Fortier just wasn't active enough.

Fortier lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Fortier looking to control and managing it successfully.
Fortier's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Fortier rushes Vodkf and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Fortier has closed the distance and engaged Vodkf in a clinch.

Fortier looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Fortier on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Fortier tries to get out of the position.
Fortier seems keen to control Vodkf's posture.

Fortier has his foot on Vodkf's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Vodkf works his way back into a safe position though.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Vodkf working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Fortier manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Vodkf manages to get himself to full guard.
Fortier is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Fortier is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Fortier has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Vodkf is proving hard to escape from.

Fortier landing some decent shots from guard.
Fortier knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Vodkf on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Granville Fortier wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Fortier shoots in and bounces Vodkf off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Fortier postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Fortier closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Fortier lands in his opponent's guard.
Fortier working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Vodkf's head.
Fortier advances to half guard.
Fortier wants to pass the guard but Vodkf is defending well.
Fortier slows the pace down in half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vodkf takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Fortier tries to stand but can't do so whilst Vodkf controls his leg.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Fortier fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Vodkf sprawls well initially but Fortier persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Vodkf is trying to stand back up but Fortier is controlling him
Fortier looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Vodkf with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Fortier wants to get back to his feet.
Fortier content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Fortier is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Fortier not doing much here.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Vodkf tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Granville Fortier overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Granville Fortier.
Fortier lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Fortier bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
You can see the frustration on Vodkf's face as Fortier controls the position.
Fortier wants to stand but Vodkf is controlling his arm.
Fortier is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Vodkf can do to turn this around?
Vodkf wants to control but Fortier postures up.
Vodkf takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Fortier tries to stand but Vodkf is controlling his head.
Fortier landing strikes.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fortier takes a little break here. Vodkf wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Fortier has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
