Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Irvin Potter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jayvon Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Irvin Potter has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Irvin Potter seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Irvin Potter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jayvon Smith! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Reed Andrews and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Smith rushes Potter and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Smith has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Potter uses from the top position. Smith working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Potter doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Potter manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Potter trying to control but Smith is working from the bottom. Potter engaging in some classic timewasting tactics. Potter decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Smith, up you get! Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into Potter's guard. Potter looking for a sweep. Not yet Potter, not yet.
That's one minute gone in the round. Smith is looking to stand up but Potter won't let him. Potter throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Smith is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jayvon Smith. Smith shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Potter makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Potter. Smith stays in close to Potter's body and controls the position. Smith has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Potter is proving hard to escape from.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Potter wants to sweep but no luck. Smith engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Jayvon Smith. Potter closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Smith to the mat! Smith manages to get full guard. Smith preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Smith managing to control the position. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
OK we're going to have a standup here. Jayvon Smith hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart. Smith shoots in and gets a takedown into Potter's guard. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Potter working a defensive guard but Smith passes into half guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Smith perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. Potter is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jayvon Smith dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Smith shoots in and bounces Potter off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Smith postures up.
Potter could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Potter tries to land a sweep but no joy. Smith controls from within his opponent's guard. Smith content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's one minute gone in the round. Potter can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Smith controls the pace. Smith lands a couple of elbows. Smith is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Potter is trying to keep Smith in close.
Smith stays in close to Potter's body and controls the position. Let's hope that Smith has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jayvon Smith was stalling too much, according to the referee. Smith clinches. Smith breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Smith changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Potter looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Potter struggling a bit here. Smith working the ground and pound. Smith is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Potter looks calm but he's in trouble here. Smith gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Potter is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Smith lets go of the hold and Potter can pop his arm back in it's socket.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Jayvon Smith!
