Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Simon Bush! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Matthew Stockman! The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Ren Mimura and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Stockman has taken the fight to the clinch.
Bush has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Stockman after a bit of a struggle. Stockman stalling the fight.
Bush really is a fat lump. Stockman pulls guard effortlessly. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Bush is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Bush would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Stockman has his hands on Bush's head, controlling the position. Stockman has a closed guard, preventing Bush from standing up.

We're going to have a standup here because Simon Bush wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Stockman closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bush circles away. Bush looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Stockman throws a head kick that Bush semi-blocks.
Stockman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bush paws at him with a jab and circles away. Stockman shoots in for a takedown but Bush shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Stockman changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Bush tries to avoid it but Stockman manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Bush to the ground. Bush escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Simon Bush has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matthew Stockman. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Stockman is defended easily by Bush. Stockman will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Stockman looks winded!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Stockman defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Bush. Bush drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Bush gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Bush slips a jab and a cross from Stockman.
Bush misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Stockman misses with a takedown so Bush counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Stockman tries to land a sweep but no joy. Stockman trying to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Stockman is working an open guard so Bush takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Stockman fails in his attempt to clinch. Stockman wants to clinch and Bush counters by clinching up. Stockman wants to stall.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Stockman is fighting off a takedown attempt but Bush is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Stockman to the mat. Stockman regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat. Stockman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Bush manages to get himself to full guard.
Stockman decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Bush, up you get! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Stockman connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Bush's hands. Bush shoots in for a takedown but Stockman shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Simon Bush will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

That will dishearten Bush somewhat. Bush on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Stockman. Stockman obviously looking to wear him down.

Stockman tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bush paws at him with a jab and circles away. Bush looks for a takedown but Stockman sprawls well. Stockman shoots in for a takedown but Bush shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stockman forces Bush back against the cage and clinches. Stockman's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Stockman goes for a double leg but Bush avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Bush continues to drive forward. Stockman tries to stall but Bush uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Stockman scores with an uppercut up the middle. Stockman manages to break the clinch.

Stockman did well to prevent Bush getting side control. Stockman tries to roll over but Bush keeps him under control. Bush throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Stockman takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Ground and pound from Bush.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Bush decides to stand back up. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Bush shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Stockman as he avoids it easily. Thud! ouch! good body kick from Stockman - that will leave a mark!
Stockman moves in looking to clinch but Bush pushes him off. Stockman darts in looking for a takedown but Bush gets double underhooks and turns Stockman into the cage. Bush tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Stockman smiles and moves away.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bush leaves Stockman with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Bush shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Bush showed some decent athleticism there. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bush seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
Simon Bush overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Bush thows a huge punch but Stockman dodges it nicely.
Stockman has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Bush is working away from the top position though. Bush controlling the action here.

Stockman gets full guard. Bush wants to control from the top but Stockman keeps moving. Stockman has a closed guard, preventing Bush from standing up. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bush stops Stockman from standing up.
