Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brett Snow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kenichi Shirahama!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Taro Takaoka and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shirahama gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Snow swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Snow lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Snow breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Shirahama moves into the clinch.
Shirahama tries to circle away but Snow has him pinned against the cage.
Snow is trying to break the clinch but Shirahama has him pressed against the cage.
Knees in the clinch landing for Shirahama.
Snow tries a body shot but Shirahama blocks it.
A frustrated look appears on Shirahama's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Snow manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Snow has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Snow could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Shirahama is looking to stand up but Snow won't let him.
Snow seems keen to control Shirahama's posture.
Shirahama must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Brett Snow.
Snow keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Shirahama instigates a clinch.
Snow can't get the takedown.
Shirahama is trying to break the clinch but Snow has him pressed against the cage.
Snow has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Shirahama stalling in the clinch but Snow improves position.
A knee to the head by Shirahama.


It looks like Brett Snow has been cut.
Shirahama trying to land knees to the body.
Snow misses with a hook from the clinch.
Shirahama keeps control of Snow as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Snow has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Shirahama is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Snow blocks a body shot from Shirahama.
Shirahama can't break the clinch.
Snow tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Shirahama is trying to break free.
Shirahama blocking some punches.
Shirahama utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Shirahama wants to break free but Snow has control.
Snow misses with a short punch on the inside.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Snow throws a head punch that misses.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Snow lands a right hand.
Shirahama can't break the clinch.
Shirahama blocks an uppercut.
Snow is looking to break free of the clinch but Shirahama has double underhooks.
Shirahama has been looking to improve his clinch game in recent weeks. So far he's outscoring his opponent in the clinch so it seems to have been worthwhile.
Shirahama is trying to break the clinch but Snow has him pressed against the cage.
Shirahama wants to break free but Snow has control.
Shirahama looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Snow stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Shirahama blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A short uppercut from Snow.
With the fighters up against the cage, Snow throws an elbow but misses.
Shirahama misses with a knee strike.
Snow lands a right hand that snaps the head of Shirahama backwards.

Snow's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Shirahama throws a solid leg kick but Snow takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Shirahama.
Shirahama scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.

Shirahama moves into the clinch.
Snow has Shirahama pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Shirahama manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Brett Snow. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Snow is trying to break the clinch but Shirahama has him pressed against the cage.
Shirahama is trying to force a seperation but Snow has the dominant position.
Snow drops down looking for an ankle pick but Shirahama pulls his leg out and moves away.
Snow is breathing heavily.
Shirahama tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Shirahama throws a one two combo.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Shirahama moves into the clinch.
Snow wants a takedown but no success here.
Snow trying to land knees to the body.
Snow is looking for a takedown.
Shirahama tries to break the clinch but Snow is controlling the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Snow is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Shirahama is defending well.

Shirahama's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Shirahama lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Snow can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Shirahama and Snow drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Shirahama.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Kenichi Shirahama!
Kenichi Shirahama decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
