The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Columbo Gatti and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wiscow takes the fight into the clinch.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Meyer tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Meyer avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Wiscow. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Wiscow shoots in and gets a takedown into Meyer's guard.
Wiscow throws a strike but Meyer rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Meyer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Wiscow has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Meyer has managed to get both his arms back between Wiscow's legs - danger averted.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Vladimir Wiscow hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Meyer wants to clinch.
Wiscow is looking to land body kicks.
Wiscow fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Meyer closes the distance and clinches up with Wiscow, looking for a takedown. Meyer pushes Wiscow against the cage but Wiscow circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Meyer fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Wiscow sprawls well initially but Meyer persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Meyer is looking to control Wiscow's arms but Wiscow gets an underhook and turns him. Now Meyer has his back to the cage.

Well Wiscow has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
