Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jerald Booth!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Andre Galvao!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Booth displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Galvao looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Booth lands a head kick. Galvao smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Galvao closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Booth's guard.
Booth looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Booth is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Galvao drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Booth dives on top into guard.
Booth wants to stand but Galvao has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Galvao had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Booth defends it easily.
Booth knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Galvao on the ground.

Booth tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Galvao has his foot on Booth's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Booth works his way back into a safe position though.

Booth rushes Galvao and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Booth really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Booth jumps guard but Galvao stands there with Booth around his waist. Booth gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Galvao gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Booth regains guard.

Galvao has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Booth is proving hard to escape from.

We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Galvao takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Galvao has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Booth scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

Booth rushes Galvao and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Booth jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Galvao walks away with a smile on his face. Booth gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Galvao gets tackled into the cage by Booth. Booth maintains the clinch.
Booth is trying to pull guard but Galvao turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jerald Booth. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Booth comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Galvao is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Andre Galvao has got the better of the ground game so far.

Andre Galvao has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Booth shoots in for a takedown but Galvao shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Galvao decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Booth, up you get!
Booth scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

A close second round but Andre Galvao will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Booth clinches up with Galvao and pushes him back against the cage.

Booth wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Galvao is now in half guard.

Galvao wants to lay and pray for a moment but Booth keeps working.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Andre Galvao wasn't active enough on the ground.

Booth gets caught napping as Galvao dives in and scores a takedown. Booth manages to retain guard.
Galvao tries to free his leg and advance position but Booth is retaining full guard.

Booth wants to get back to his feet but Galvao is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Galvao slips nicely into half guard.
Galvao passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Booth!
Booth wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.

Galvao is cranking Booth's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Booth! He's tightened the choke and Booth is tapping out!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:31 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Andre Galvao!
