Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alphonse Tchami (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike The Shark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Shark has chosen Still as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Alphonse Tchami! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Mike The Shark! The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Aleksei Zolotukhin and Illya Tyunina.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tchami throws a right hand that The Shark ducks under and follows up with a left that The Shark also avoids with ease. A punch lands to the side of The Shark 's head but he takes it in his stride. The Shark clinches up against the cage. Tchami comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush. The Shark blocks an elbow strike from Tchami.

The Shark changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Tchami fights it off and pushes away nicely.

and Tchami counters by clinching up. Tchami misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from The Shark.
The Shark pushes off an throws an elbow but Tchami leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage. Tchami with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
The Shark takes a knee to the side of the body. Tchami is defending well against a takedown attempt. Alphonse Tchami has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike The Shark. With the two fighters working up against the cage, Tchami just misses with a elbow thrown towards The Shark's brow. Tchami is defending well against a takedown attempt. The Shark wants a takedown.
Tchami utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. The Shark drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tchami gets the underhooks and prevents it.
The Shark is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. I was talking to Tchami's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
That's one minute gone in the round. The Shark managing to block the knees to the body from Tchami.

Tchami throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but The Shark blocks it with crossed arms. The Shark is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Tchami is defending well. The Shark changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Tchami fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Nice sprawl there from Tchami as The Shark shoots in. Alphonse Tchami is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Tchami scores with a leg kick.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that The Shark has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat. The Shark rushes Tchami and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Tchami misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from The Shark.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The Shark wants to take the fight to the mat but Tchami manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Tchami lands an elbow just above The Shark 's eye. Tchami pushes The Shark back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Nice body punch from Tchami - that landed with a thud.
The Shark is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Tchami lands a nice elbow. Tchami prevents a takedown attempt there.

The Shark has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tchami is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Tchami using the Thai plumb to throw knees but The Shark has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Tchami stalling in the clinch but The Shark improves position. Tchami lands an elbow inside. The Shark has Tchami pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Tchami manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. The Shark swings away with an uppercut that misses.

The Shark is working for takedown but Tchami is calmly controlling the position for now. The Shark looks winded! Tchami throws a knee to the head but misses.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The Shark wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Tchami has him pressed against the cage. The Shark drops down looking for an ankle pick but Tchami pulls his leg out and moves away.
The Shark instigates a clinch. The Shark has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Tchami is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. The Shark tries to score a body lock takedown but Tchami shows good agility there to stay on his feet. The Shark trying to control the position but instead, Tchami has worked for underhooks and has pushed The Shark into the cage. Tchami blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

The Shark is looking for a takedown. The Shark tries for a takedown but Tchami manages to get underhooks.
The Shark takes a knee right on the jaw!
The Shark is rocked! The pace really dropping off here, momentarily. The Shark is still on wobbly legs! Can Tchami finish him? Tchami landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Tchami will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning The Shark up against the cage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Tchami creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through The Shark's defenses. The Shark is pressed against the cage. Tchami pushes back and unleashes a big elbow that really hurts The Shark! Two more big strikes from Tchami and The Shark crumples to the mat and taps out furiously due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Alphonse Tchami! Alphonse Tchami seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
