Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Coors Light (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua Shouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coors Light could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Joshua Shouse 's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Coors Light!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joshua Shouse !
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Light darts in looking for a takedown but Shouse gets double underhooks and turns Light into the cage.
Light tries to throw a body punch but Shouse avoids it by throwing Light back against the cage.
Shouse has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Light is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Light lands an elbow inside that Shouse shrugs off.
Light misses with an elbow over the top.
Shouse tries to score a body lock takedown but Light shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Light pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Shouse throws a chopping leg kick but Light manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Light throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Shouse was covering up waiting for the punch and Light finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Shouse is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Light tries to free his leg and advance position but Shouse is retaining full guard.

Light wants to control from the top but Shouse keeps moving.
We've been hearing good reports from Light's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Shouse manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Shouse goes for an armbar but Light turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Light.
Light working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Shouse 's head.
Shouse is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Shouse thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Light avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Shouse tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Light postures up.
Light not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Light trying to control but Shouse is working from the bottom.
Light is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

We're going to have a standup here because Coors Light wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Shouse fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Coors Light has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Joshua Shouse .

Light chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Light tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Shouse paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Shouse looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Light!
Shouse content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Light is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Shouse 's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Shouse seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Light wants to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Coors Light will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Shouse shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Shouse seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Light does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Shouse is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Shouse wants to take a breather but Light is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Shouse uses his free foot to push down on Light's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Light.

Shouse swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Light is now in Shouse 's guard. A big mistake from Shouse there, giving up the dominant position!

Light looking to sit in guard and control but Shouse gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Shouse avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Shouse had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Light defends it easily.
Light throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Light pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Shouse is keeping the position for now.

Shouse has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Light is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Shouse .
Shouse tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Light wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Shouse avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Light.
Light is working Shouse over with some ground and pound from side control.

Light working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Joshua Shouse showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!



Shouse drives through with a takedown into Light's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Light pulls Shouse in close to prevent any damage.

Light scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Shouse throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Light's waist but Light gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shouse off to one side.
Shouse looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Nice takedown defense from Shouse . No joy for Light on that attempt.

Light dives in and scores a takedown into Shouse 's guard.
Light is fighting to break Shouse 's control of his arms but Shouse is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Shouse is working an open guard so Light takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Light throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.

Shouse drives through and clinches with Light against the cage.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Light works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Light has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Shouse avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Shouse has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Light blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Light gets underhooks to prevent Shouse 's takedown attempt.

Shouse escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shouse leaves Light with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Shouse shoots in looking for a takedown but Light manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Shouse 's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Shouse shoots in for a takedown but Light shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Shouse avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Shouse tries to close the distance and clinch but Light swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Shouse tries to score a power double leg takedown but Light sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Shouse somewhat.

Shouse looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Light is fending him off so far but Shouse persists. Nope, Light circles away and we're back to standing.

Light lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Light tries a head kick but it misses.
Shouse fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Light avoids it really well and circles away.
Shouse blocks a head kick by Light.
Shouse dives in and grabs Light's left leg, looking for a takedown. Light pushes down on Shouse 's head and hops out.
Shouse fails with a takedown attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Shouse misses with a takedown attempt - Light sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Light has Shouse up against the cage in a clinch.

And that's the end of the fight!
Coors Light showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Light has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
