Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dustin Douglas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ken Oath (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Douglas comes into the arena with La La La - Snoop Lion blaring out of the sound system. Oath is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Fuck your guts out. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Ken Oath!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Richard Clark and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oath pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Oath connects with a body shot that sends Douglas's belly button to the back.
Good work by Oath as he checks the leg kick.
Oath moves out of range of the body kick from Douglas.
Douglas throws a leg kick

and Oath decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Douglas's guard.
Douglas controlling Oath's posture.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Oath trying to control but Douglas is working from the bottom.
Oath showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Douglas misses the body punch

and Oath counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Oath sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Douglas defending well though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oath trying to control the pace.
Oath landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Douglas is looking to improve his position.
Oath wants to take a breather but Douglas is having none of it.
Douglas has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Oath content to control rather than advance.
Oath is keen to just control but Douglas is a slippery customer.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Douglas wants to improve his position but Oath is controlling well.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

It looks like Ken Oath has been cut.

Douglas throws a poor cross that misses

and Oath counters with a shoot takedown. Douglas fights it but they end up in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oath throws a big elbow that misses.
Douglas seems keen to control Oath's posture.
Douglas keeping moving, preventing Oath from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Douglas punishes Oath's body with a nice straight punch.
A looping hook to the body misses from Douglas. Oath does a little dance to reset his feet.

Douglas throws a hook to the side of Oath's head but Oath sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Oath on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Douglas. Douglas obviously looking to wear him down.
Oath takes one to the chin there.
Douglas swings for the body but Oath moves out of range.
Douglas misses with a leg kick
and Oath counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Oath bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Oath moves forwards but Douglas connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Oath pivots, looking for a leg kick but Douglas is out of range and Oath settles back down.
Oath tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Nice body kick there by Douglas.

Douglas stuns Oath with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Douglas lands a right hook to the body.
Oath looks winded!
Douglas lands a leg kick that knocks Oath off balance momentarily.

Douglas cracks Oath with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Douglas has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Oath to stand back up!


Oath is rocked!
Oath leaves his chin hanging out and Douglas seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Oath crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Dustin Douglas!
Dustin Douglas retains his heavyweight title!
As Dustin Douglas got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: Good fight Oath. You're a top notch competitor and I have much respect for you. Now lets burn one for humanity. One love, courtesy of the lion.'.
The defeated Ken Oath had this to say: 'Fark you Douglas.... Fark you... Too good Soy'.
