The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oliveira circles away from the clinch attempt.

Round clinches up with Oliveira and pushes him back against the cage.

Round works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Round postures up.
Round trying to control but Oliveira is working from the bottom.
Round in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Round thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Round working some strikes from top position.
Round won't allow Oliveira to get back to his feet.
Oliveira looking for a sweep. Not yet Oliveira, not yet.
Oliveira bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Round's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Round is trying to control the position but Oliveira postures up.

Round has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Oliveira can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Round wants to stand but Oliveira is controlling the position.
Oliveira throws a big elbow that misses.
Oliveira controls from within his opponent's guard.
Round really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Oliveira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Oliveira trying to control the position from guard on top but Round is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Gustavo Oliveira wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Round clinches up with Oliveira and pushes him back against the cage.
Round keeps control of Oliveira as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Round has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Oliveira is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Round wants to take the fight to the mat but Oliveira manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Oliveira wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Oliveira tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Round just stands there and leans against the cage.
Oliveira gets underhooks to prevent Round's takedown attempt.
Gustavo Oliveira has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Round Round.
Oliveira has Round pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Round manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Oliveira is fighting off a takedown attempt but Round is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Oliveira to the mat. Oliveira regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Oliveira wants to sweep but no luck.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Round postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Oliveira is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Round, into his guard.
Round looks winded!
Oliveira wants to control from the top but Round keeps moving.

Round is looking for a triangle but Oliveira pushes his legs off easily.
Round being controlled here, momentarily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Oliveira lands a couple of digs.
We've been informed that Round has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Oliveira trying to control but Round is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Oliveira decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Round, up you get!
Oliveira tries to clinch up.
Oliveira lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

It looks like Round Round has been cut.
Oliveira has been working on his balance at Cozad The Island, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Oliveira swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Oliveira lands with a big left! Round is wobbled badly! Oliveira comes in with a flurry of punches and drops Round to the floor. The ref jumps in to save him from unneccessary punishment.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Gustavo Oliveira!
