Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Terry Wells!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Josh Cruz!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cruz connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Wells misses with a kick to the body.
Cruz goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Josh Cruz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cruz throws a combination that misses
and Wells counters with a thumping low kick.
Cruz lands with a hook. Wells tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Wells goes for a double leg but Cruz avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Cruz continues to drive forward.
Wells tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Cruz is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Cruz gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Cruz is pushing down on Wells's leg trying to pass to half guard. Wells is fighting to maintain full guard but Cruz has managed to sneak the leg through.
Cruz should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Cruz is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Cruz is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Wells looks like he's trying to stand up.

Cruz is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Wells pulls his head out easily.

No joy there for Cruz, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Cruz stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Cruz looks winded!
Wells is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Wells shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Cruz but Cruz pushes him off and we're back to square one.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Terry Wells. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wells shoots for a takedown but Cruz saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cruz fails to land with a series of punches.
Wells dives in and grabs Cruz's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cruz pushes down on Wells's head and hops out.
Cruz cracks Wells with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wells has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Cruz.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Wells.
Danga de danga de dang - Cruz scores with a four punch combination!


Wells is rocked!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Cruz connects with a combination that backs up Wells into the cage. Cruz lands a flurry of punches that gets past Wells's guard. Wells is down and the referee has seen enough. It is all over! Cruz bursts into tears - this win obviously means a huge amount to him.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Josh Cruz!
Josh Cruz tried to hype himself up post fight but didn't word it too well and it ended up with him sounding like a bit of a tool.
