Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Ricardo Martinez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cole Slaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ricardo Martinez has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Ricardo Martinez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cole Slaw! The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Slaw fails with an attempt to clinch.
Slaw shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Martinez sprawls well. Martinez wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Slaw gets slowly back to his feet. Slaw shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Martinez counters with a shoot takedown. Slaw fights it but they end up in guard. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Martinez won't allow Slaw to sweep him here. Slaw being controlled here, momentarily.
We're going to have a standup here because Ricardo Martinez wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Slaw shoots and misses so Martinez counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Ricardo Martinez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cole Slaw. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Martinez looking to pass the guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Martinez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Martinez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Martinez with a flurry of punches that miss. Martinez drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Slaw manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Martinez has Slaw in his guard. Martinez keeping moving, preventing Slaw from controlling successfully. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Slaw working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Slaw is posturing up here but Martinez has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Slaw tries to roll out but it's too tight and Slaw has to tap! Slick submission there by Martinez!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:19 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Ricardo Martinez!
