Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Diablo Rage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricky Steamboat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Steamboat has chosen Dragon Fire as his entrance music. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rage shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Horrible takedown by Rage or perhaps it was just good defense by Steamboat which made him look bad.
Steamboat stuffs the takedown.

A head kick misses from Rage.
Steamboat shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Steamboat jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Rage is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Rage and Steamboat has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

Rage gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Steamboat moves into full mount! Rage won't be happy about that!
Steamboat looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Steamboat wants to control from the top but Rage keeps moving.

Steamboat drops back looking for a leg! Rage is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Rage manages to kick Steamboat off! Steamboat jumps back into Rage's guard.

A kick lands to the mid section there for Rage.
Steamboat misses with a takedown attempt - Rage sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Rage throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Steamboat's waist but Steamboat gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Rage off to one side.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rage throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

and Steamboat counters with a nice double leg into side control. Rage won't be happy with that.

Steamboat thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Rage is trying to control Steamboat's posture but Steamboat avoids it.

Steamboat goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Rage rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Steamboat's guard! Nice work there by Rage!

Steamboat throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Rage stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Steamboat swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Steamboat working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Rage doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Rage manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Steamboat looking to hit a scissor sweep but Rage is one step ahead there.

Ricky Steamboat showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

and Steamboat counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Rage throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
Steamboat thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Steamboat stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Rage swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Steamboat postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Rage is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Steamboat, into his guard.
Rage stands and throws Steamboat's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Steamboat stops Rage from passing to mount.
Steamboat is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Steamboat is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Rage's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Rage's back!
Rage is defending well here and trying to improve his position.
Steamboat is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Rage defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Steamboat is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Rage knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Rage for a finish.
Steamboat has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Rage has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Rage rolls, trying to escape but Steamboat keeps control of the position.

Steamboat is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Rage is having to fend off submission attempts from Steamboat, who is looking to sink in the choke. Steamboat doesn't have the hooks in though and Rage manages to reverse position! He's now on top, in his opponent's guard.
Steamboat is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Steamboat has hold of Rage's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Rage tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Steamboat cranks the arm and Rage screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Rage, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
