The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Damme clinches up with Gracien and pushes him back against the cage.
Damme tries to circle away but Gracien has him pinned against the cage.

Damme is trying to break the clinch but Gracien has him pressed against the cage.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Damme jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Gracien walks away with a smile on his face. Damme gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Royce Gracien has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Van Damme.
A combination from Damme does no damage.
Damme throws a sloppy head kick and Gracien moves out of range easily.

Gracien feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Damme sprawling to the canvas! Damme rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Gracien finish him?!

Damme is rocked!

Gracien drives through and clinches with Damme against the cage.

Damme seems to have recovered his senses.
