PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Spat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jiu Jitsu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jitsu has chosen Nikkfurie- The a la Menthe as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 32 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Spat!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 19 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jiu Jitsu!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jitsu shoots in but Spat avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Jitsu closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Jitsu lands in his opponent's guard.

Jitsu avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jitsu wants to control from the top but Spat keeps moving.
Spat is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jiu Jitsu has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Spat closes the distance but Jitsu moves to the side
and Jitsu counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jitsu avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Jitsu closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Spat to the mat! Spat manages to get full guard.

Spat is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Jitsu is aware though and is defending well.
Jitsu is stalling in the full guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Let's hope that Jitsu has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Jitsu is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Spat keeping moving, preventing Jitsu from controlling successfully.

Jitsu got a little sloppy there for a moment and Spat has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jitsu has managed to get both his arms back between Spat's legs - danger averted.
Jitsu is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Spat wriggles free and stands up.
Spat scores with a spinning back kick!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Jitsu changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Spat looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Spat is looking for a sweep.

Jitsu looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Spat tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jitsu wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Spat is not content to let Jitsu control the position.
Spat might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Spat manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Spat is controlling the pace.

Jitsu looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Spat trying to mount his opponent but Jitsu defends it.
Spat not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Well, if Spat is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Spat is looking for a kimura here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spat with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
The fighters are battling for position here. Jitsu manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Spat controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Spat's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jiu Jitsu will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Jitsu shoots in and drives through. Spat sprawls well.

Spat scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Spat is trying to control the action in half guard but Jitsu is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.

Jitsu regains full guard, whilst avoiding punches from Spat.
Spat wants to control from the top but Jitsu keeps moving.

Jitsu looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Spat is defending well. Jitsu quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Spat has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Jitsu celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jiu Jitsu!
An out of breath Jiu Jitsu thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
