Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rocky Creed (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and German Valdez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). German Valdez is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

9 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, German Valdez!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Gwen Towbar and Cecil Peabody.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Creed closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Valdez's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Creed wants to control from the top but Valdez keeps moving.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

We're going to have a standup here because Rocky Creed wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Creed shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Valdez's guard.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Valdez shoots in looking for a takedown. Creed tries to sprawl out of it but Valdez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Creed manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Rocky Creed has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of German Valdez.
Creed tries to clinch but Valdez moves out of range.

Creed slaps away a takedown attempt from Valdez, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Valdez shoots for a double leg takedown but Creed sprawls well. He's pushed Valdez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Creed dives in for a single leg takedown but Valdez sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Valdez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Creed is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Valdez jumps into side control!

Valdez is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Creed is trying to escape and Valdez transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Creed is forced to tap! Nice work there by Valdez! Very nice indeed!
