Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Algernon Mustard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Blaff Biggins!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Thiago Cunha and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Biggins closes the distance and clinches up with Mustard, looking for a takedown. Biggins pushes Mustard against the cage but Mustard circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mustard drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Biggins had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Mustard is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Biggins Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Mustard's back instead.

Mustard defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.
Mustard is looking to stand up but Biggins won't let him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mustard is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Biggins looking for a sweep. Not yet Biggins, not yet.
Biggins is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Biggins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mustard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mustard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Mustard gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Mustard's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mustard seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Biggins for as long as he can get away with.
Biggins tries to get back to half guard but can't.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Algernon Mustard dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Mustard shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Biggins counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Biggins.
Mustard avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Biggins stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mustard swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Biggins drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mustard manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Biggins has Mustard in his guard.

Biggins is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Mustard avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Mustard is looking to stand up but Biggins won't let him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Mustard slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Mustard stands up and waves to Biggins to follow him.

Mustard darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Biggins trying to hold on to Mustard's head to control him but Mustard postures up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Mustard decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Mustard bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Biggins is looking to regain half guard here but Mustard keeps moving and retains side control.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Biggins is trying to work for a sweep but Mustard has mounted him!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Biggins flailing away with punches but nothing is landing.
Mustard controlling the position easily from mount.
Biggins tries to hold on but Mustard pushes him away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Algernon Mustard dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!



Mustard feints and as Biggins raises his hands in defense, Mustard changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Biggins is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Mustard looks like he's trying to stand up.

Biggins wants to pass to mount but Mustard is defending the position.
Mustard is looking for a sweep. Biggins is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mustard wants to get back to his feet.
Mustard wants to improve his position but Biggins is controlling well.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mustard kicks off Biggins and gets to his feet.
Algernon Mustard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Biggins shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Biggins showed some decent athleticism there.
Biggins misses with a head shot. Mustard uses the momentum to regain guard.
Biggins won't allow Mustard to get back to his feet.
Blaff Biggins has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Biggins has gone for a leg lock! Mustard slips out almost immediately though and dives into Biggins's guard.
Mustard is stalling in the full guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Biggins working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Mustard doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Mustard manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Mustard not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

And that's the end of the fight!
Algernon Mustard showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Mustard has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
