The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dela Cruz shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Filipovic counters with a slapping leg kick. Dela Cruz fails to land the takedown. Dela Cruz tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Filipovic defends well and Dela Cruz ends up having to push Filipovic into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mauricio Dela Cruz. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dela Cruz has a body lock and is looking for a takedown.
