Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Preston Mckay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Barnes Hemingway (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hemingway is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: fortunate son. Preston Mckay has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Preston Mckay! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Barnes Hemingway! The judges for this bout are Josh West, Colin Fray and Roger Salmon.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hemingway shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Mckay napping and manages to drive through into side control! We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Mckay tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hemingway wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Hemingway decides to take the fight back to the feet. Hemingway scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Hemingway content to sit in half guard and control for a moment. Hemingway wants to control but Mckay is keeping him busy. Mckay makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Mckay. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Mckay looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Hemingway looking to pass the guard. Mckay is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Hemingway looking to sit in guard and control but Mckay gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Mckay throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mckay throwing strikes but missing. Mckay really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Hemingway has his foot on Mckay's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Mckay works his way back into a safe position though. Hemingway striking off his back but it's not causing Mckay any problems. Mckay cracks Hemingway with a solid left hand.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mckay wants to stand and escape but instead Hemingway has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Hemingway stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mckay swivels though and keeps the full guard. Hemingway makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Hemingway trying to control but Mckay is working from the bottom. Hemingway postures up in Mckay's guard and throws a big left but Mckay blocks it. Hemingway has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Mckay controls Hemingway momentarily but Hemingway frees himself. Mckay is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Mckay working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hemingway doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hemingway manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Mckay will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Mckay pulls Hemingway in to control the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mckay wants to sweep but no luck. Mckay is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hemingway is aware though and is defending well. Mckay is breathing heavily. Hemingway trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Mckay is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Hemingway slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Hemingway's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Mckay looking to control.
Mckay throws some sloppy strikes off his back.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Barnes Hemingway was stalling too much, according to the referee. Some wild striking there from Hemingway.
Hemingway drives through with a takedown into guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hemingway sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Mckay's guard. Hemingway looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Mckay slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Mckay looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Hemingway passes into half guard.
Hemingway not landing any meaningful shots this time. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hemingway is looking for a kimura here.
Mckay wants to improve his position but Hemingway is controlling well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Barnes Hemingway dominated that round. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.
Hemingway manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Mckay on his heels. He'll look to pass Mckay's guard now, I'm sure. Hemingway thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Mckay not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Hemingway decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mckay, up you get! Hemingway throws a combination that misses and Mckay counters with a left to the body. Hemingway gets a takedown into half guard. Mckay is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hemingway pulls his head out easily. Mckay controlling the position well. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Mckay gets full guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Mckay keeping full guard, as Hemingway tries to pass. Mckay looking to control.
Hemingway trying to control the position from guard on top but Mckay is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Mckay can't keep his opponent in guard - Hemingway advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Hemingway works his foot free and advances to mount. Hemingway seems to be looking to move to his opponent's back but Mckay is holding on tight.
Mckay can't escape the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hemingway avoids the attempt from Mckay to control. Hemingway prevents Mckay from getting the reversal. Hemingway controlling his opponent. Mckay keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Hemingway is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mckay has managed to escape the submission attempt.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Mckay tries to hold on but Hemingway pushes him away. Hemingway with the ground and pound from mount. Hemingway trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hemingway working for a guillotine from mount but Mckay is in no mood to give up. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mckay tries to hold on but Hemingway postures up. Hemingway lands a big elbow.
Mckay is rocked! Hemingway working for a submission but Mckay is keeping him at bay. Oh Mckay is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Mckay can't escape the position.
Hemingway working for a guillotine from mount but Mckay is in no mood to give up. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Hemingway controlling the pace for now. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Hemingway cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Hemingway postures up and throws a couple of big shots that have Mckay in real trouble here! The ref calls for Mckay to improve his position which he doesn't do, so the referee has no choice but to end the fight due to the strikes!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Barnes Hemingway! Barnes Hemingway took to the mic in his post fight interview and said 'Yaaaaaaaaaaay'.
