Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Anthony (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Madz Ladz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 23 - 10 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephen Anthony!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Madz Ladz!
The judges for this bout are John Roberts, John Kavanagh and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anthony shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Ladz but Ladz pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Ladz dives in and scores a takedown into Anthony's guard.
Anthony utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Ladz in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Anthony working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ladz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ladz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Ladz looking to sit in guard and control but Anthony gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Anthony is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ladz doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Anthony.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ladz has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Anthony thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Ladz's head.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Madz Ladz hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Ladz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Ladz throws a strike but Anthony rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Ladz is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That was a close round but I would say that Stephen Anthony will probably get the nod.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Madz Ladz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Ladz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Anthony looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Anthony stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Ladz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Ladz looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Anthony!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Madz Ladz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ladz has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
