Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Point Fighter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Charles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Point Fighter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Charles!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fighter connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Fighter takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Charles dives in and scores a takedown into Fighter's guard.
Charles works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Charles controlling the action here.
Charles wants to stand up but Fighter is controlling the position.
Fighter wants to get back to full guard.

Fighter is looking for a sweep. Charles is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by David Charles.

Fighter loads up on a big right hand but Charles slips the punch.

Point Fighter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fighter will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Charles lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
Charles tries to close the distance and clinch but Fighter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Charles throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Fighter stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Fighter dives in and scores a takedown into Charles's guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Fighter trying to control but Charles is working from the bottom.
Charles tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Charles has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

We're going to have a standup here because Point Fighter wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Fighter dives in and grabs Charles's left leg, looking for a takedown. Charles pushes down on Fighter's head and hops out.
Fighter throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Charles stuffs the takedown attempt from Fighter. Fighter gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Point Fighter. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Fighter connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Fighter looks to score with a jab to the body but Charles is just out of range.

Charles decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fighter tries to roll over but Charles keeps him under control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Charles throws a strike but Fighter rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Fighter accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Fighter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Charles swivels though and keeps the full guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Fighter's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Fighter looking to sit in guard and control but Charles gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
David Charles has got the better of the ground game so far.

It's got to the stage where if one of these guys blows hard enough, the other might fall over.

David Charles comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Charles has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
