Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ryan Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cain Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Velasquez has chosen UFC - Face the Pain as his entrance music. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
25 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ryan Carter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
22 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Cain Velasquez! The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Valeri Chadov and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Velasquez checks a leg kick. Ryan Carter seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Carter swings and misses with a shot to the body and Velasquez counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Velasquez not landing any meaningful shots this time. Carter pushes Velasquez off looking to stand but Velasquez dives back in and keeps control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Velasquez looks to land a strike but Carter avoids it nicely and regains full guard. Velasquez in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Velasquez throwing strikes but missing. Velasquez throwing strikes from guard but Carter blocks nicely. Velasquez throws an elbow that misses. Carter uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Velasquez's guard. Nice move by Carter! Velasquez pulls Carter in close to prevent any damage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Carter is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Carter stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Velasquez swivels though and keeps the full guard. Carter slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Carter has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Carter being controlled here momentarily. Velasquez has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Carter throws a half hearted mid kick. Carter tries to clinch up but Velasquez circles away and keeps his distance. Velasquez avoids the body shot from Carter.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carter lunges at Velasquez with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Velasquez's hand. Carter misses with a hook. Carter thuds his right hand into Velasquez's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Carter lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. This has been an exciting period of action! A head kick misses from Carter. Carter motions for Velasquez to come forward. Carter throws a leg kick but it misses it's target. Carter scores with a nice strike. Carter punishes Velasquez's body with a nice straight punch. Carter throws a looping overhand right but Velasquez ducks down to avoid it. Carter throws a head kick that misses. Velasquez keeps the fight on the outside.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Velasquez blocks a head kick by Carter.
Carter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Velasquez. A telegraphed right hand from Carter misses the target. Velasquez moves out of range as Carter strikes. Carter is looking to score with low kicks. Carter throws a series of punches but Velasquez moves out of range. Carter scores with a nice head shot. Carter missing with a left hand there. Velasquez was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Carter is looking to slow Velasquez down with leg kicks. Carter throws a low kick but Velasquez moves out of range easily. Carter throws a low kick but Velasquez avoids it.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A slapping leg kick lands for Carter.
A head kick misses from Carter. Carter lands a leg kick that knocks Velasquez off balance momentarily. Carter fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Velasquez dives in for a single leg takedown but Carter sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Carter throws a punch but it's blocked by Velasquez. Velasquez is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Carter gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Velasquez tries to score a body lock takedown but Carter shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Ryan Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cain Velasquez. Carter lands an uppercut. A short uppercut from Carter. Velasquez works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Velasquez wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Velasquez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carter connects with a body shot that sends Velasquez's belly button to the back. Carter tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Carter throws a hook but Velasquez blocks it. Carter gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. Carter is defending well against a takedown attempt. Carter lands with a light punch inside. Carter softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Velasquez tries for a takedown. No joy.

That's one minute gone in the round. Velasquez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Ryan Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cain Velasquez. Velasquez tries to pull guard but Carter forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Carter lands a nice uppercut. Carter gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Velasquez.
Carter lands an elbow inside. Velasquez can't get the takedown.
Carter tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Velasquez's elbow. Velasquez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Velasquez dives in for a single leg takedown but Carter sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Carter lands a body punch. Velasquez is breathing heavily. Carter digs a right hand into Velasquez's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Velasquez's gas tank. A left hand lands to the body for Carter.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Carter lands with a good tight uppercut to the head. Carter will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Velasquez up against the cage. Velasquez is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Carter pulls him back up using the underhooks.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Carter prevents a takedown attempt there.
Velasquez drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Carter softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage. Carter stalling in the clinch but Velasquez improves position. Carter working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Velasquez wants to take the fight to the mat but Carter manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch. Velasquez tries to pull guard but Carter forces him back to his feet, against the cage. Carter landing some nice looking knees to the body.
Velasquez gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground. Carter managing to control the position. Carter's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Carter keeping moving, preventing Velasquez from controlling successfully. Velasquez postures up in Carter's guard and throws a big left but Carter blocks it. Velasquez loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Velasquez throwing strikes but missing. Cain Velasquez has got the better of the ground game so far. Velasquez throwing strikes but missing. Carter avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Velasquez stands up over Carter, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head. Velasquez trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Carter wants to sweep but no luck. Carter is trying to keep Velasquez in close.
Velasquez keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Carter's head. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Velasquez trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Velasquez slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Ryan Carter dominated that second round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
A jab from Carter finds it's way through Velasquez's defenses. Carter tries to land a front kick but Velasquez steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Carter lands with a kick to the temple. Velasquez shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?" Carter looks to land a body kick but Velasquez moved away. Carter looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Velasquez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Carter's waist but Carter gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Velasquez off to one side. Velasquez takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Velasquez dives in for a single leg takedown but Carter sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Velasquez has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Carter is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Ryan Carter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cain Velasquez. Velasquez successfully pulls guard.

That's one minute gone in the round. Carter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Velasquez is looking to stand up but Carter isn't so interested in that idea. Carter trying to control the position from guard on top but Velasquez is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Carter has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Velasquez is proving hard to escape from.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Ryan Carter just wasn't active enough. Carter throws a hook to the side of Velasquez's head but Velasquez sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Carter throws a looping overhand right but Velasquez ducks down to avoid it. Carter misses with a wild combination.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Carter is looking to slow Velasquez down with leg kicks. Carter lands with a cross. Velasquez ducks under a wild hook from Carter. Carter connects with a high kick. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Velasquez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Carter throws out the jab. Velasquez keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Carter throws a jab but it's blocked by Velasquez. Carter slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range. Sloppy strikes from Carter. Those never looked like landing. Velasquez on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Velasquez circles away from the clinch attempt and Velasquez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Carter won't be happy with that. Velasquez looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Carter is avoiding damage well.
Carter is trying to control Velasquez's posture but Velasquez avoids it. Carter avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Velasquez.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Carter managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Velasquez.
Velasquez misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Velasquez wants to control but Carter is keeping him busy. Velasquez tries to land with some ground and pound but misses. Cain Velasquez has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Velasquez working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Velasquez tries to move to mount but Carter blocks the move with his legs.
And that's the end of the fight! Ryan Carter showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Carter, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
