Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vince Fox (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Magred (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Magred comes into a darkened arena with his song building. walk like an egyptian kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Vince Fox! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, James Magred! The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Paul Gruel and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Magred shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard. Magred is pressing down on Fox's thigh, looking to free his foot. Fox is holding on for now. Fox is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Magred pulls his head out easily. Fox is looking to escape. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Magred wants to control but Fox is keeping him busy. Fox looks like he's trying to stand up.
Fox is looking for a sweep. Magred is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Fox is trying to stand back up but Magred is controlling him
Magred postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Fox to stand up. Fox shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Magred as he jumps to the side. Magred throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Fox was covering up waiting for the punch and Magred finishes the takedown easily into guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Magred forces his way into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Magred seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Fox does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Magred controlling the action here. Fox is trying to stand back up but Magred is controlling him
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Magred stands up from half guard. Fox rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Magred moves out of range and avoids them all easily. James Magred seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Magred throws a quick inside leg kick. Decent striking displayed by Magred there. Fox tries a low kick but Magred avoids it. Magred shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Magred showed some decent athleticism there. Fox is breathing heavily.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Fox is trying to escape back to his feet but Magred uses the scramble to pass into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Magred decides to stand back up. Magred steps back and let's Fox get back to his feet. Magred closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Fox quickly recovers to half guard. Magred prevents Fox from improving his position. Magred is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Magred passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Fox! Fox is squirming around, avoiding Magred's attempts to control the action. Fox knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Magred on the ground.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Magred landing strikes from the mount and Fox is in trouble! Magred connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Magred tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Magred trying to control but Fox is having none of it. Magred is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Magred lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Magred can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fox is looking to escape. Fox is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Fox keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Fox is squirming around, avoiding Magred's attempts to control the action. Fox might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Magred is working for a guillotine from mount but Fox frees his head quite easily.
Magred stands up from mount. Strange move. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! A head kick misses from Magred. Magred shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Magred was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Magred stands up and beckons Fox to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
James Magred dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Magred closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Fox to the mat! Fox manages to get full guard. Magred won't allow Fox to get back to his feet. Fox really is a fat lump. Fox can't keep his opponent in guard - Magred advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Magred wants to control but Fox is keeping him busy. Magred has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Magred takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. Magred gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks! Magred has been the more effective fighter overall so far. Magred manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Fox on his heels. He'll look to pass Fox's guard now, I'm sure. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Fox can't keep his opponent in guard - Magred advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Magred trying to control the pace.

He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Fox tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Magred!
