Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Christophe Duggary! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brian Schroeder! The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Daniel Cesar and Luis Engracia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Duggary closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. Duggary controlling the action here. Schroeder is holding on to half guard well. Duggary is figuring out what he wants to do next.
We're going to have a standup here because Christophe Duggary wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Duggary misses the shot to the body. We've been hearing reports that Duggary has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight. Duggary throws a right hand that Schroeder ducks under and follows up with a left that Schroeder also avoids with ease. Schroeder connects with a body shot. Schroeder avoids a punch combination nicely.
Schroeder lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Duggary circles away quickly and effectively.
That's one minute gone in the round. A lazy left from Schroeder finds it's target. Schroeder loads up on a big right hand but Duggary slips the punch. Schroeder throws the left hand but Duggary avoids the punch easily. No luck for Duggary with that takedown attempt. Duggary tries to score a power double leg takedown but Schroeder sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Duggary somewhat. Schroeder is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Duggary.
It looks like Brian Schroeder has been cut. Duggary moves in looking to clinch but Schroeder pushes him off. Duggary scores with a hook to the body. Schroeder takes a step back and tries to catch his breath. Duggary fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Christophe Duggary. That's going to take a lot out of him. Duggary throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Duggary misses with a left hand and Duggary takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
It looks like Christophe Duggary has been cut. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Duggary throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Duggary missing with a left hand there. Schroeder was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Duggary shoots in looking for a takedown but Schroeder manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Duggary's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Duggary keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Schroeder swings and misses with a shot to the body and Duggary counters with a nice body shot. Schroeder uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook. Duggary thows a body shot but no joy. A punch combination from Schroeder misses. Schroeder blocks a leg kick. Duggary shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Duggary was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! Schroeder tries to buck Duggary off but Duggary is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Duggary takes a little break here. Schroeder wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Duggary goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Schroeder rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Duggary's guard! Nice work there by Schroeder! Duggary not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Schroeder looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Duggary is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Schroeder trying to control but Duggary is working from the bottom. Schroeder content to stall in guard here.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Duggary fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Schroeder avoids it really well and circles away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Duggary shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Duggary was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Christophe Duggary dominated that round. Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Duggary throws a leg kick but Schroeder moved away. Christophe Duggary is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Schroeder checks a leg kick. Duggary misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Christophe Duggary seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Duggary uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Schroeder. Schroeder keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Schroeder throws a right and a left that Duggary avoids nicely. Duggary misses with a hook
and Schroeder cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Schroeder lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Duggary at a distance.

Schroeder lands a big right hand that sends Duggary crashing to the mat! Schroeder stays standing though and waves Duggary back to his feet! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Duggary blocks a leg kick. Duggary misses with the combination.
Brian Schroeder seems to be getting the better of the standup. The fight stays on the outside here - Duggary looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

A telegraphed right hand from Duggary misses the target. Schroeder misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Duggary.
Schroeder connects with a body shot that sends Duggary's belly button to the back. Schroeder lands a left and a right that send Duggary crashing to the mat, dazed. Schroeder thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Duggary is rocked! The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Duggary tries to get into range but Schroeder steps to the side and lands a beautiful hook that drops Duggary! He's faceplanted into the mat, ass in the air... he's out cold! That's an image he won't want to show his grandkids when he gets older! Schroeder scores the big KO victory!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Brian Schroeder! A relieved looking Brian Schroeder thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
