PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Satoshi Ishii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nick Plumber (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Plumber is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by I'm not gay. Satoshi Ishii has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Satoshi Ishii!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Nick Plumber!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Jorge Garcia and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ishii throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Plumber tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Ishii is in Plumber's guard.
Ishii stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Plumber swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Ishii is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Ishii is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Ishii looking to pass the guard.
Ishii controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Ishii will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Plumber is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Ishii stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Plumber swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ishii is working hard here to advance position.
Ishii slips nicely into half guard.
Ishii wants to lay and pray for a moment but Plumber keeps working.
Ishii slows the pace down in half guard.
Ishii has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Plumber really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ishii. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Satoshi Ishii wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Plumber lands with a straight right. Ishii didn't see that one coming.

Plumber sends Ishii crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Plumber is motioning to the referee to let Ishii up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!


It looks like Satoshi Ishii has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ishii gets the takedown into side control.

Ishii is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Plumber knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Ishii controlling the position.
Ishii wants to lay and pray for a moment but Plumber keeps working.

Ishii wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Plumber, who protects the arm well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ishii trying to control the action but Plumber is working from the bottom.

Ishii is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Plumber has escaped the position, nice work there.

Ishii is trying to get an arm triangle but Plumber is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Plumber is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Plumber trying to remain calm as Ishii controls from the top position.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Ishii wants to control but Plumber is keeping him busy.

Ishii looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Ishii advances to full mount.
Ishii avoids the attempt from Plumber to control.
Ishii takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Ishii has isolated one of Plumber's arms. Plumber looking to fight him off but Ishii twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Satoshi Ishii!
An out of breath and clearly excited Satoshi Ishii thanked Nippon Outfitters for their help and support (and free stuff they sent him).
The defeated Nick Plumber had this to say: 'I bet the jews are responsible for this.'.
