Joseph is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Malfunction by Cro-Mags. John Joseph struggled to make weight for this fight. He only made it down to 156.0lbs at the first attempt and had to take the additional two hours to make the official bout weight. Let's see how much it's taken out of him. The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Joseph looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Joseph tries to bum rush Atlantis with a series of wild strikes but Atlantis uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Sloppy strikes from Joseph. Those never looked like landing.
Joseph throws a series of punches but Atlantis avoids them all with ease.
Atlantis fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Atlantis shoots in but Joseph avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Joseph swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Joseph looks to land a combination but Atlantis avoids it well.
Atlantis looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Sloppy strikes from Joseph. Those never looked like landing.

Joseph moves into range and clinches up with Atlantis.

Joseph escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Atlantis on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Atlantis changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Joseph looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Atlantis tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Joseph tries to improve position but can't.

Atlantis has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Joseph is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Atlantis yanks on the arm and Joseph is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Atlantis.
