The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Biers closes the distance but Brooks moves to the side
and Brooks counters with a single leg into guard. Biers didn't expect that.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Biers trying to control the position.
Brooks thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Brooks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Biers swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Brooks really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Biers controls Brooks momentarily but Brooks frees himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Brooks won't allow Biers to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Biers keeping full guard, as Brooks tries to pass.
Biers can't keep his opponent in guard - Brooks advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Brooks is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Biers!
Brooks with some aggressive grappling here, looking for the finish.

Biers has given up his back here. Will Brooks look for the submission or keep pounding away?

Biers is looking to escape but he's done so without protecting himself and Brooks manages to counter with a nice rear naked choke! Biers is in trouble and he's forced to tap!
