Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Todd Frazier! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Winston Churchill! The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Roosa Järviläinen and Marco Blurström.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Frazier tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Churchill defends well and Frazier ends up having to push Churchill into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Churchill wants to break free but Frazier has control.
Churchill manages to break the clinch.
No luck for Frazier with that takedown attempt. Nice takedown defense from Churchill. No joy for Frazier on that attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Todd Frazier. That's going to take a lot out of him. Sloppy strikes from Churchill. Those never looked like landing. Churchill lands a nice hook to Frazier's body. Frazier takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Churchill stuns Frazier with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Churchill feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Fraziers jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
It looks like Todd Frazier has been cut. This has been an exciting period of action! Frazier looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Churchill! We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Churchill is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here. Frazier tries for a kimura but Churchill is defending well. Frazier tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Frazier has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
That's one minute gone in the round. Frazier thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Frazier is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Churchill is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Churchill wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Frazier tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Frazier has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Churchill tries to escape but Frazier is in control. Frazier thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Churchill wants to get back to his feet but Frazier drags him back down.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Frazier is working to tighten his grip on Churchill's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Churchill has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Frazier is really squeezing tight and eventually Churchill passes out! Frazier breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
