Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mercury Sabin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Danny Tatko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tatko has chosen no Music as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mercury Sabin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Danny Tatko!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Elvis Blanc and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tatko misses with a double jab.

Sabin drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tatko utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Tatko preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
Sabin prevents Tatko from getting back to his feet.
Sabin stays in close to Tatko's body and controls the position.
Sabin forces his way into half guard.
Sabin looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Sabin is trying to work for a kimura but Tatko is defending well.
Tatko is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Tatko actively working from the bottom here.

Sabin is looking to advance position but Tatko won't allow it.
Sabin thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Tatko tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Sabin has advanced to mount. Uh oh.
Tatko tries to reverse the position but Sabin maintains control.
Sabin controlling the pace for now.
Tatko working to try and regain half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Tatko gets back to half guard.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Tatko looks like he's trying to stand up.

Sabin is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Tatko has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Sabin is working away from the top position though.
Tatko is trying to get back to full guard.

Sabin scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Sabin passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Tatko!

Tatko is bucking up trying to escape but Sabin cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Sabin fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Sabin trying to control but Tatko is having none of it.
Sabin is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Tatko is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Sabin has control of Tatko's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Tatko regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Tatko wants to control but Sabin is having none of it.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That's time! Sabin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


A slow jab from Sabin misses its intended target.
Danny Tatko seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

and Sabin counters with a shoot takedown. Tatko fights it but they end up in guard.

Tatko has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Sabin has passed into side control.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Sabin working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
You can see the frustration on Tatko's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Sabin wants to lay and pray for a moment but Tatko keeps working.
Tatko wants to control but Sabin is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Sabin seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Tatko does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Sabin is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Sabin wants to control from the top but Tatko keeps moving.
Sabin might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Tatko pulls Sabin in close to his closed guard and prevents Sabin from doing any damage or advancing position.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Sabin's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Sabin preventing the sweep.
Tatko is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Tatko controls Sabin momentarily but Sabin frees himself.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Sabin gets the takedown into side control.
Tatko tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Sabin wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Sabin lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.

Sabin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Sabin tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mercury Sabin dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Tatko scores with a head kick.

Sabin changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tatko looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Tatko on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Tatko is looking for a sweep.
Tatko can't do much from the bottom here.

Sabin thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Tatko sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Sabin is working for a kimura but Tatko is defending it quite comfortably.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Tatko tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Sabin has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Tatko wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
Tatko wants to improve position but instead he's given up his back.
You can see the frustration on Tatko's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

Sabin is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Sabin is punishing Tatko with strikes - can he finish him?!

Sabin has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Tatko's body.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Tatko manages to reverse the position and now he's in Sabin's guard. Nice work there by Tatko.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sabin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
