PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roger Schwarzeneg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mickey Halliday (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mickey Halliday told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 24 - 43 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Roger Schwarzeneg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 14 - 3, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mickey Halliday!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Halliday tries a low kick but Schwarzeneg avoids it.
Schwarzeneg throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Halliday's waist but Halliday gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Schwarzeneg off to one side.
Mickey Halliday seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Halliday fakes the leg kick and cracks Schwarzeneg in the body.
Halliday rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Schwarzeneg moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Schwarzeneg checks a low kick from Halliday.
Halliday throws a nice looking combination but Schwarzeneg bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Schwarzeneg moves away from the strike by Halliday.
Halliday stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Halliday wants it to stay on the feet.
A decent looking cross lands there for Halliday.

Schwarzeneg drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Halliday avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Schwarzeneg works over Halliday with some ground and pound from guard.
Halliday wants to stand but Schwarzeneg is controlling the position.
Halliday looks winded!
Halliday working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Schwarzeneg.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Halliday keeping moving, preventing Schwarzeneg from controlling successfully.
Halliday wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Schwarzeneg is now in half guard.

Schwarzeneg stands up and beckons Halliday to join him on the feet.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Halliday tries to clinch but Schwarzeneg moves out of range.

Schwarzeneg scores with a takedown into Halliday's guard.
Schwarzeneg throws a big right hand that misses.
Schwarzeneg postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Schwarzeneg pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Halliday is keeping the position for now.
Schwarzeneg is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Schwarzeneg working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Schwarzeneg might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Schwarzeneg trying to control but Halliday is working from the bottom.
Schwarzeneg wants to pass the guard but Halliday is keeping the position.
Schwarzeneg sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Halliday's guard.
Schwarzeneg throwing shots but Halliday is blocking nicely.
Halliday has found himself in a tricky position here. He's been working his transitions in training so let's see if he can work his way out of it.
Halliday is trying to stand back up but Schwarzeneg is controlling him
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Schwarzeneg is working for a submission of some sort.
Halliday wants to improve his position but Schwarzeneg is controlling well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Halliday can do anything to dispel that myth.

Schwarzeneg not landing any meaningful shots this time.

Schwarzeneg seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Halliday is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
