Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael Carter Williams !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rafal Wallace!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Nard Betker and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams throws a one two combo.
Wallace tries to clinch there but Williams circles away.
Wallace has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Wallace there as he acknowledges the shot.
Wallace takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wallace throws a left and a right that both miss
and Williams counters with a nice body shot.
Williams lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Wallace circles away quickly and effectively.
Wallace shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Williams sprawls well. Williams wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Wallace gets slowly back to his feet.
Nice jab there from Williams .
Williams misses with a wild combination.
Williams scores with a nice right hand.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Williams slaps away a takedown attempt from Wallace, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Wallace closes the distance but Williams moves to the side
and Williams counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Wallace thinking.
Wallace shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Williams counters with a series of strikes. Wallace will be more careful next time no doubt.
Michael Carter Williams has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rafal Wallace.
Wallace walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Williams batters Wallace with a massive right followed by a huge left! Wallace is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Williams lands a final crushing right hand to drop Wallace to the mat with a gruesome thud! Williams is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:41 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Michael Carter Williams !
