Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Mistah Muzzlefist!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mako Choliman!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, John Roberts and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muzzlefist lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Muzzlefist tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Choliman manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Crunch! Muzzlefist slams his shin into Choliman's torso.
Muzzlefist tries to clinch but fails miserably

and Choliman counters with a nice double leg into side control. Muzzlefist won't be happy with that.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Muzzlefist wants to control but Choliman postures up.
Choliman misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Muzzlefist seems a little lost for a moment, as Choliman dominates the positioning.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Choliman working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Let's hope that Choliman has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Choliman wants to lay and pray for a moment but Muzzlefist keeps working.
The ground and pound from Choliman seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Choliman content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
Choliman landing a few strikes.
Choliman has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Choliman is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Muzzlefist will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Muzzlefist is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Choliman asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Choliman lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Muzzlefist down.
Muzzlefist looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Choliman looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Muzzlefist is avoiding damage well.
Muzzlefist is trying to control Choliman's posture but Choliman avoids it.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Choliman creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Choliman scores with a couple of short elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Choliman throws an elbow but Muzzlefist slips to the side and avoids it well.
Choliman cracks Muzzlefist with an elbow. That is naaassty.

Choliman slows the pace down.
Muzzlefist takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Choliman staying calm.
Muzzlefist is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Choliman advances nicely into full mount.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Choliman lands a big elbow.
Choliman fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!


Muzzlefist is rocked!
Choliman has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Muzzlefist's face.
Oh Muzzlefist is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Muzzlefist is breathing heavily.
Choliman loads up with a big shot that hurts Muzzlefist! He's pulled Choliman in close but Choliman has postured up and lands more strikes. Can Muzzlefist survive? More strikes from Choliman and Muzzlefist is out! The ref jumps in to save him! Brutal ground and pound!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Mako Choliman!
