PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Peter Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bobby Lashley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Lee kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Beastie boys - Sabotage. Lashley has chosen Dominator as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Peter Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bobby Lashley!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Steve Smith and Robert Douchet.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lashley needs to keep his hands up - Lee had a free shot at his head there.
Lashley slips under a jab.
Lashley tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lee paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Lee throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lashley looks for a takedown but Lee sprawls well.
Lashley ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Lee lands a jab to Lashley's midsection.
Lee swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Lee has taken the fight to the clinch.
Lee manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Lashley breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lee fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lee takes a swing at Lashley's ribcage but misses.
Lee misses with a looping left.
Lee throws a hook but Lashley avoids it easily.
Lee scores with the left hand. Lashley knows he should have avoided that one.

Lee cracks Lashley with a good jab.
Lee throws a nice looking combination but Lashley bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Lashley tries to close the distance and clinch but Lee swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Lashley wants to clinch but Lee slips to the side
and Lee counters with a nice body shot.
Lee misses with a double jab.
Lashley closes the distance looking to clinch
and Lee counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Lee slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Peter Lee seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lee throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Lashley sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Lee lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Lee throws a hook to the side of Lashley's head but Lashley sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Lashley avoids a punch combination nicely.

and Lee holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Lee pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Lashley uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Lee.
Lashley closes the distance but Lee moves to the side
and Lee counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Lashley takes one to the chin there.
Lee moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Lashley throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Lee's waist but Lee gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Lashley off to one side.
Lashley looks gassed!
Lee misses with a looping right.
Lee is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Lee lands a nice shot to the body.
Good shot there by Lee.
Lee throws a series of punches but Lashley avoids them all with ease.
Lee throws a hook but Lashley avoids it easily.

Lashley takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Lee takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Lee lands a body punch in the clinch.
Lashley tries to pull guard but Lee won't allow it.
Peter Lee has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Bobby Lashley.
Lee works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Lee gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
A right handed body shot lands from Lee.
Lee cracks Lashley with a nice body shot.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Lee pushes Lashley back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.

Lee lands a hook that snaps the head of Lashley backwards.

Lee digs a right hand into Lashley's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Lashley's gas tank.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lashley shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Lee pinned against the cage. Lee gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Lee throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Lashley connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Lashley is breathing heavily.
Lee tries to bum rush Lashley with a series of wild strikes but Lashley uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Lee for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Lashley steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Lee.

Lee lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Lashley backs up against the cage.

Lee clobbers Lashley with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

Lashley shoots in for a double leg but Lee sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Lee lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Lashley doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Lee darts in and clinches Lashley up against the cage.
Lashley drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Lee gets the underhooks and prevents it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peter Lee dominated that second round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Lee counters with a straight right hand.

Lee closes the distance and clinches.
Lee lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Lashley wants to get back to striking at distance but Lee won't allow it.
Lashley tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Lashley ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Lashley no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Lee prevents Lashley from getting back to his feet.
Lee controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Lee seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Lashley is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lee is controlling him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lee connects with a good right hand that stumbles Lashley. Lashley circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Lee fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Lashley manages to avoid it.
Lee throws an overhand right that lands on Lashley's shoulder, as Lashley tries to avoid the shot.

Peter Lee showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Lee, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
