Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Charles Clayton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Clayton comes to the cage accompanied by Lose Yourself. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Charles Clayton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alex Silva! The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Clayton looks to score with a jab to the body but Silva is just out of range. We've been told by Clayton's head coaches at Elite Fighting Temple that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight. Clayton throws out a powerful jab. Silva fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Clayton, pushing him back against the cage. Silva changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Clayton fights it off and pushes away nicely.
A nice inside leg kick there by Silva. That's going to slow Clayton down. Silva with a lazy takedown attempt and Clayton counters with a nice uppercut. A big left from Clayton misses. Clayton connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Silva's hands. Silva takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily. Silva tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Clayton paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's one minute gone in the round. Clayton lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Silva fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Charles Clayton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Silva. Clayton pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way. Clayton slaps away a takedown attempt from Silva, before circling back to the center of the mat. Horrible takedown attempt by Silva or perhaps it was just good defense by Clayton, which made it look bad. Clayton connects with a body shot that sends Silva's belly button to the back. Silva dodges the punch combination from Clayton.
Silva fails with the takedown.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Silva steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Clayton. That one must have hurt. Clayton misses with a jab, cross combination.
Silva fails with a takedown attempt. Clayton stalks Silva and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Silva's face. Silva staggers backwards, shaken. Clayton connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Clayton feints a jab promting Silva to slip. Clayton then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Silva slips again and ducks right into an uppercut. Clayton lands a jab to the nose.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Silva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Clayton as he jumps to the side. Silva tries to clinch there but Clayton circles away.
Silva shoots for a double leg takedown but Clayton sprawls well. He's pushed Silva's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Silva darts in looking for a takedown but Clayton gets double underhooks and turns Silva into the cage. Silva decides to pull guard. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Clayton pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Silva is keeping the position for now. Silva is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Silva preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Silva wants to sweep but no luck. Clayton makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Clayton throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Clayton trying to control but Silva is working from the bottom. Clayton won't allow Silva to sweep him here. Clayton throwing strikes but missing. Clayton is fighting to break Silva's control of his arms but Silva is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. Clayton won't allow Silva to sweep him here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Clayton controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Charles Clayton. Clayton tries to bum rush Silva with a series of wild strikes but Silva uses good footwork to avoid the assault. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Charles Clayton dominated that round. That's time! Back to the action!
Clayton slaps away a takedown attempt from Silva, before circling back to the center of the mat. Clayton cracks Silva with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Clayton throws a half hearted mid kick. Clayton cracks the inside of Silva's front leg. Clayton throws a leg kick but Silva moved away. Silva misses with a takedown and Clayton counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt. Silva has his takedown stuffed and Clayton counters with a body kick. Charles Clayton has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Silva. Clayton displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
That's one minute gone in the round. A solid leg kick lands there for Silva.
Silva takes a kick to the body and keeps moving. Charles Clayton is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Left hook, right uppercut from Clayton. A good leg kick by Clayton. Silva dives in and grabs Clayton's left leg, looking for a takedown. Clayton pushes down on Silva's head and hops out. Silva drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Silva accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Silva slips nicely into half guard. Clayton is trying to control but can't.
Silva is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Clayton is trying to stand back up but Silva is controlling him
