Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shelton Delgado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Castanha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Shelton Delgado! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Carlos Castanha! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Ron Honeybunn and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Castanha misses with a takedown and Delgado makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Castanha tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Delgado paws at him with a jab and circles away. Castanha dives in and grabs Delgado's left leg, looking for a takedown. Delgado pushes down on Castanha's head and hops out. Castanha is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Castanha tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Delgado counters with a nice kick to the body. Carlos Castanha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Castanha darts in and clinches Delgado up against the cage. Delgado drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Castanha. Castanha gets control of Delgado's arms and successfully pulls guard. Castanha will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up. Delgado throwing strikes from guard but Castanha blocks nicely. Delgado throws a big elbow that misses. Castanha wants to get back to his feet but Delgado is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Delgado throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Delgado chips away with some ground and pound.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Delgado is trying to get an arm triangle but Castanha is defending well. Delgado working away. Castanha really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Delgado. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Castanha is trying to get back to his feet. Delgado connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Castanha some visible discomfort.

He has the arm isolated but Castanha is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. The ground and pound from Delgado seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Castanha darts in looking for a takedown but Delgado gets double underhooks and turns Castanha into the cage. Castanha tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Delgado really is a fat lump. Delgado is trying to drag Castanha to the mat but Castanha just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Castanha lands a right hand that snaps the head of Delgado backwards. Delgado is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. Delgado postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Delgado loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Delgado postures up in Castanha's guard and throws a big left but Castanha blocks it. Delgado postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Castanha is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Castanha wants to sweep but no luck. Delgado has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
