The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Bruno Hogan and Darius Henderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aristides fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Mcfarland to the ground. Aristides is now in Mcfarland's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Aristides working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
It looks like Dana Mcfarland has been cut.
Mcfarland manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Aristides manages to get himself to full guard.
Mcfarland could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Aristides had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Mcfarland defends it easily.
Mcfarland tries to stand but Aristides is controlling from the bottom.
Aristides pulls Mcfarland in close to prevent any damage.

Aristides looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Mcfarland postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Mcfarland wanted to stand there but Aristides had control of the position.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mcfarland moves into range and clinches up with Aristides.
Mcfarland is trying to break free.
Mcfarland decides to pull guard.

Aristides makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Dana Mcfarland's cut is getting worse.
Aristides postures up and lands a big shot to Mcfarland's brow.
