Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Kent Kirkland!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ricky Konda!
The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Chris Edwards and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Konda lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Kirkland tries to clinch but Konda is having none of it.

Konda rushes Kirkland and presses him up against the cage.
Konda wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Kirkland tries for a takedown but Konda manages to get underhooks.
Kirkland can't get the takedown.
Konda is looking to break free of the clinch but Kirkland has double underhooks.
Kirkland has Konda pressed against the cage, preventing Konda from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Konda wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Kirkland trying to control the position but instead, Konda has worked for underhooks and has pushed Kirkland into the cage.
Kirkland jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Konda walks away with a smile on his face. Kirkland gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kent Kirkland. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kirkland looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Konda smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Konda misses with a head kick.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Konda breaks from the clinch.
Konda scores with a jab. Kirkland acknowledges it with a nod of the head.

Konda closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Konda is trying to push Kirkland away but Kirkland has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Konda breaks from the clinch.
Kirkland walks into a straight right hand from Konda.

Konda has closed the distance and engaged Kirkland in a clinch.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kirkland is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Konda is defending well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Konda manages to break the clinch.
Konda looks to land a combination but Kirkland avoids it well.

Konda clinches up against the cage.
Konda has had enough of the clinch but Kirkland keeps him there for the moment.
Kirkland drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kirkland tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Konda just stands there and leans against the cage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Kirkland decides to pull guard.

Kirkland is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Kirkland working for a triangle but Konda defends it easily.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Konda stands up and waves to Kirkland to follow him.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ricky Konda dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Konda will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A left and a right from Konda both land. Nice combination.


It looks like Kent Kirkland has been cut.
Kirkland closes the distance but Konda moves to the side
and Konda counters with a one-two to the body.


Kirkland is rocked!

Kirkland tries to keep at a distance but Konda has taken the fight into the clinch.
Oh Kirkland is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kirkland looking for a takedown.
Kirkland seems to have got his legs back now.
Konda is trying to break free.
A frustrated look appears on Konda's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Kirkland keeps control of Konda as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Kirkland tries to score a body lock takedown but Konda shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Konda looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Kirkland is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Kent Kirkland. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kirkland is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Konda to keep the fight standing.

Konda lands with a nice body punch.
Ricky Konda is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Konda lands a jab and follows it up with a massive straight that knocks Kirkland out cold! Kirkland is crumpled in the corner, his head only propped up by the cage! That's one for the organiziational promos right there! Wow, what a finish!
