Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fedor Emelianenko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gustavo Oliveira! The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Sandra Marshall and David Hoff.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oliveira shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Emelianenko defends it nicely. Oliveira looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Emelianenko stuffs the takedown. Emelianenko scores with a takedown into Oliveira's guard. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Emelianenko is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Emelianenko really is a fat lump. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Emelianenko pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Oliveira is keeping the position for now.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Emelianenko shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Oliveira manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Emelianenko stays in close to Oliveira's body and controls the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Emelianenko scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Oliveira is trying to buck Emelianenko off. Emelianenko controlling from side mount. Oliveira gives up the full mount - oops, sloppy defensive grappling there!

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. Oliveira tries to reverse the position but Emelianenko maintains control. Emelianenko sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Emelianenko avoids the attempt from Oliveira to control. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oliveira darts in and clinches Emelianenko up against the cage. Emelianenko has Oliveira pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Emelianenko pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Oliveira tumbling to the mat - Emelianenko dives into Oliveira's guard. Oliveira looking for a guillotine here but Emelianenko defends easily.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Oliveira trying to remain calm as Emelianenko controls from the top position. Oliveira wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done! Emelianenko advances to mount. Emelianenko sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Oliveira tries to lock up and control but Emelianenko gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Fedor Emelianenko dominated that second round. That's time! Back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Oliveira misses with a takedown and Emelianenko counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Emelianenko looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Emelianenko seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Oliveira for as long as he can get away with.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Fedor Emelianenko wasn't doing enough on the ground. Emelianenko throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Oliveira tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Emelianenko is in Oliveira's guard. Oliveira takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Emelianenko postures up.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Oliveira working a defensive guard but Emelianenko passes into half guard.
Emelianenko is figuring out what he wants to do next. Emelianenko passes the guard and advances to mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Emelianenko won't let Oliveira get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now. Emelianenko controlling from the full mount. Emelianenko has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Oliveira tries to control the position but Emelianenko now has his back.
Emelianenko has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Oliveira's body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Oliveira wants to control his opponent's hands but Emelianenko gets his hands free. Fedor Emelianenko overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Oliveira is being controlled on the ground here - he must escape this position otherwise surely the end is near.
Gustavo Oliveira has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Fedor Emelianenko is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

And that's the end of the fight! Fedor Emelianenko showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Emelianenko, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
