Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yuki Yamamoto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Sherk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sherk has chosen Divinations by Mastodon as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Yuki Yamamoto! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dave Sherk! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Matheus Silva and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Yamamoto keeps the fight on the outside. Sherk fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Sherk tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Yamamoto defends well and Sherk ends up having to push Yamamoto into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. Sherk is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though. With the fighters up against the cage, Yamamoto throws an elbow but misses. Sherk tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Yamamoto's elbow. Sherk utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body. Sherk goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Yamamoto tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Sherk avoids it. Sherk on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Sherk looking to slow down the pace here. Sherk breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sherk tries to clinch but Yamamoto moves out of range. Sherk has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Yamamoto. Sherk throws a leg kick but Yamamoto checks it. Sherk blocks a head kick by Yamamoto.
Sherk is trying hard to land a takedown here. Yamamoto sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Yuki Yamamoto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Sherk. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Yamamoto throws out a leg kick but Sherk moves out of range and Yamamoto only half commits. Sherk fails in his attempt to clinch. Sherk shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Yamamoto napping and manages to drive through into side control! Yamamoto tries to bench press Sherk off him but Sherk keeps the position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Sherk advances to mount. Yamamoto wants to hold on but Sherk pushes him away. A nice elbow there by Sherk. Sherk working the ground and pound effectively.
Sherk scoring with strikes but Yamamoto is staying in there. Yamamoto gets back to half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Sherk is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Yamamoto is just riding it out for now. Sherk eventually gives up the hold. Yamamoto works his way to full guard. Good work. Yamamoto keeping moving, preventing Sherk from controlling successfully. Yamamoto looking to hit a scissor sweep but Sherk is one step ahead there.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Yamamoto is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Sherk is looking for a sweep. Yamamoto is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Yamamoto landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Yamamoto trying to mount his opponent but Sherk defends it. Yamamoto winds up and cracks Sherk with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Sherk looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Sherk is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Yamamoto's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Yamamoto's back! Sherk working for the choke. Yamamoto turns into Sherk and is now in his guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Yamamoto preventing the sweep. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Sherk looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it. Yamamoto trying to control the position from guard on top but Sherk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Yamamoto tries to free his leg and advance position but Sherk is retaining full guard. Sherk is trying to control the position but Yamamoto postures up. Sherk pushes Yamamoto off and scrambles back to his feet.
Yamamoto scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Sherk tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Yamamoto wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control. Sherk struggling a bit here. Sherk gets back to half guard. Sherk trying to control from the bottom.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sherk is not content to let Yamamoto control the position. Sherk trying to hold on to Yamamoto's head to control him but Yamamoto postures up.
Yamamoto seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sherk does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Yamamoto is really struggling to control Sherk but he's trying to hold on to the position. Sherk is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Yamamoto pulls his head out easily. Sherk trying to control here.
Yamamoto tries to pass the half guard into mount. Sherk knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt. Sherk is looking to escape. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Yamamoto works his way into side control. Sherk sneaks back into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dave Sherk dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Yamamoto is looking to land body kicks. Yamamoto lands with a thumping leg kick.
Yamamoto tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Yamamoto misses with a head kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Yamamoto. Yamamoto shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Sherk tries to clinch but Yamamoto moves out of range. Sherk blocks a low kick nicely. Yamamoto leaves Sherk with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Sherk takes a swing at Yamamoto's ribcage but misses. A combination from Sherk does no damage. Sherk misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Yamamoto.
Sherk connects with a jab. Yamamoto fails with a takedown attempt. Dave Sherk seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Sherk tries to land a front kick but Yamamoto steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Sherk tries to clinch but Yamamoto is having none of it. Yamamoto moves out of range of the leg kick from Sherk.

Yamamoto throws a leg kick but Sherk sees it coming and moves out of range. Sloppy strikes from Sherk. Those never looked like landing. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! Yamamoto shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Yamamoto looking to pass the guard. Sherk controls Yamamoto momentarily but Yamamoto frees himself. Yamamoto wants to pass the guard but Sherk is keeping the position. Yamamoto pushes down on Sherk's leg and manages to get into half guard. Yamamoto is pressing down on Sherk's thigh, looking to free his foot. Sherk is holding on for now. Yamamoto wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sherk keeps working. Sherk won't allow Yamamoto to pass to mount. Sherk kicks off Yamamoto and gets to his feet.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Yamamoto throws a right hand that Sherk ducks under and follows up with a left that Sherk also avoids with ease. Yamamoto lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range. Sherk dives in for a single leg takedown but Yamamoto sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Yamamoto gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Sherk.
Yuki Yamamoto has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dave Sherk. Sherk is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Knees in the clinch landing for Yamamoto.
Sherk is breathing heavily. Yamamoto tries to land a knee to the head but Sherk blocks with his arms.

That's really hurt Sherk and he's turned his back - Yamamoto keeps firing away and the ref dives in to stop the fight! Yamamoto jumps to his feet to celebrate the victory!
