The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Crawford closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Crawford connects with a nasty looking knee right to Willems's face.
Willems has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Crawford is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Willems has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Willems is trying to maintain a safe position but Crawford gets an underhook and turns Willems into the cage.
Crawford tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Willems on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Willems is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Crawford pulls him back up using the underhooks.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Crawford is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Willems throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
