Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Collin Hinton! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jack Quick! The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Franklyn Lucas and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Quick changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hinton looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. You can see the frustration on Hinton's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Who's going to make the next move? Hinton knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Quick on the ground. Quick trying to control the action but Hinton is working from the bottom. Hinton can't do much from the bottom here. Hinton is looking for a sweep. Quick working away. Quick tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Hinton can't do much from the bottom here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Quick wants to stand but Hinton has his arm trapped. You can see the frustration on Hinton's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Quick wants to stand but Hinton has his arm trapped. Hinton tries to improve position but can't.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hinton looks to move to half guard but instead Quick has passed into mount! Damn! Quick landing punches. Quick trying to control but Hinton is having none of it. Hinton really is a fat lump. Hinton in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Hinton tries to lock up and control but Quick gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. Quick can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Hinton is looking to escape. Quick is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hinton is looking to get to half guard. Quick avoids the attempt from Hinton to control. Hinton working to try and regain half guard.
Hinton wants to control but Quick is having none of it. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Quick is landing with some decent strikes but Hinton is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Quick connects with a bit shot that sees Hinton covering up! More strikes from Quick and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Quick is our winner by TKO!
