The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramirez shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Ramirez dives in and grabs Malegarie's left leg, looking for a takedown. Malegarie pushes down on Ramirez's head and hops out.
Ramirez shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Malegarie is trying to defend but Ramirez finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Malegarie has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Ramirez is working away from the top position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ramirez tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Malegarie defends well and Ramirez ends up having to push Malegarie into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Ramirez wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Malegarie jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Ramirez walks away with a smile on his face. Malegarie gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Nice takedown defense from Malegarie. No joy for Ramirez on that attempt.
Malegarie takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Ramirez shoots in looking for a takedown but Malegarie manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Ramirez's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Flavio Malegarie has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Rob Ramirez.
Malegarie changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ramirez tries to avoid it but Malegarie manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ramirez to the ground. Ramirez escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Ramirez tries to close the distance and clinch but Malegarie swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Malegarie tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ramirez sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Malegarie somewhat.

Ramirez lands with a right that hurts Malegarie. Malegarie looks to clinch but Ramirez throws a short knee that drops Malegarie. This one is all over!
