Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of

7 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Matsumae Sukeyuki ! The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sukeyuki showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Vasililiev.

Vasililiev checks a low kick from Sukeyuki . Sukeyuki rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vasililiev moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Sukeyuki scores with a jab to the jaw. Vasililiev misses with a double jab.

Sukeyuki feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Vasililievs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist! Sukeyuki scores with the left hand. Vasililiev might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Sukeyuki can do anything to dispel that myth. so Sukeyuki counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Sukeyuki throws a big right hand that misses. Sukeyuki wants to stand but Vasililiev has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Vasililiev is looking for a triangle but Sukeyuki pushes his legs off easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Vasililiev pulls Sukeyuki in close to prevent any damage. Vasililiev had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Sukeyuki defends it easily. Sukeyuki must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Vasililiev is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Vasililiev is breathing heavily. Sukeyuki trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Sukeyuki missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Vasililiev bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sukeyuki 's guard. Vasililiev has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Vasililiev wants to stand and escape but instead Sukeyuki has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard. Sukeyuki avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Vasililiev has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sukeyuki can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. Sukeyuki trying to control but Vasililiev is working from the bottom. A close round but Matsumae Sukeyuki will probably get the nod. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Sukeyuki digs a good body shot into Vasililiev's ribs. Vasililiev will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Sukeyuki creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. Sukeyuki tries to break free but Vasililiev pushes him back against the cage. Vasililiev is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Sukeyuki is keeping busy. Sukeyuki has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Vasililiev is landing a low percentage of strikes. A clash of legs there as Sukeyuki blocks the low kick. Vasililiev takes one on the button. Vasililiev throws a left and a right that both miss
and Sukeyuki connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Vasililiev lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Sukeyuki circles away quickly and effectively. Sukeyuki cracks Vasililiev with a right hand to the side of the head. Vasililiev throws a series of punches but Sukeyuki avoids them all with ease. Sukeyuki lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Sukeyuki . Sukeyuki darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Sukeyuki thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Vasililiev has hold of Sukeyuki 's hands but Sukeyuki slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Vasililiev is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Sukeyuki 's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Sukeyuki 's back!
