Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Eduardo Gomes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 9 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Nate Kart!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gomes lands a high kick!
Kart darts in looking for a takedown but Gomes gets double underhooks and turns Kart into the cage.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kart has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Kart wants a takedown but no success here.
Kart has had enough of the clinch but Gomes keeps him there for the moment.

Gomes has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kart uses from the top position.

Gomes looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Kart trying to control the position from guard on top but Gomes is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Kart stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Kart throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Gomes's waist but Gomes gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Kart off to one side.
Eduardo Gomes has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Nate Kart.
Gomes connects with a jab.
That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Kart crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Gomes - the referee stops the clock and Kart gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Gomes. Kart manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Kart is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Gomes pulls guard effortlessly.

Gomes is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Gomes pulls Kart in close to prevent any damage.
Kart looking to sit in guard and control but Gomes gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Gomes is stalling in the full guard.
Kart trying to keep a closed guard but Gomes is proving a slippery customer.

Kart has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Gomes doesn't defend quickly enough and Kart has managed to lock this one up! Can Gomes escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Kart on a fantastic submission victory.
