Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mac Green!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Leon Whitley!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, John Kavanagh and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Whitley throws a poor cross that misses
and Green counters with a nice body kick.
Whitley blocks a head kick by Green.
Green moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Green slips a jab from Whitley.
Whitley looks to throw the jab but Green is out of range.
Green throws a chopping leg kick but Whitley manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Whitley swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Green ducks under a wild hook from Whitley.
Whitley throws a one two combo.
Whitley lands a jab to Green's midsection.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Green lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Whitley backs up against the cage.
It looks like Leon Whitley has been cut.
Whitley rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Green counters with an inside leg kick.
Green bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Whitley avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Whitley throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Green moves out of range as Whitley strikes.
Whitley looks to land a left hand but Green moved out of range nicely.
Whitley misses with a wild combination.
Whitley works Green's body with a nice hook.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Green throws the left hand but Whitley avoids the punch easily.
Whitley takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Whitley is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Whitley misses with an uppercut
and as Whitley loses concentration momentarily, Green counters with a picture perfect head kick! Whitley goes down, out cold! The referee rushed in to check on his condition - I'm sure he'll be ok but that was a massive knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Mac Green!
