Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Xavier Worner! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Daniel Bryan! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bryan shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bryan was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake. Bryan remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Worner tries to control the position but he's not in luck - Bryan easily slips into full mount! Worner really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Worner is defended easily by Bryan. Worner shoots in but Bryan avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Worner fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bryan on the side of the head. Bryan misses with a leg kick and Worner counters with a nice kick to the body. Worner lands a high kick!
Worner misses with a takedown attempt and Bryan counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Worner! That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xavier Worner. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Worner is trying to get back to half guard. Worner is trying to control Bryan's posture but Bryan avoids it. Bryan wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Worner, who protects the arm well.

Worner is looking for a sweep. Worner struggling a bit here. Worner tries to get back to half guard but can't. Worner can't do much from the bottom here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Bryan passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Worner! Bryan in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Bryan controlling his opponent. Bryan fails to move to back control. Worner tries to lock up and control but Bryan gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Bryan controlling his opponent. Worner reaches up to try and control the position but Bryan seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Worner rolls and tries to escape and now Bryan has his back!

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Good control from Bryan. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bryan is looking to land body kicks. Xavier Worner is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Bryan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Worner looks for a takedown but Bryan sprawls well. Bryan shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Bryan cracks Worner with a solid left hand. Bryan avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

The fight stays on the outside here - Bryan looks like he's thinking about clinching though. A kick lands to the mid section there for Worner. Bryan looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard. The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bryan prevents Worner from standing back up.
Well, if Bryan is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

Daniel Bryan has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Worner shoots in for a double leg but Bryan sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Bryan closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Worner did well to prevent Bryan getting side control. Bryan is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Worner tries to roll over but Bryan keeps him under control. Bryan takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position. Bryan scoring with strikes to the body and head. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Bryan lands a nice short elbow.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Worner wants to control the action here but instead Bryan manages to pass to full mount! Bryan lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Worner hang on? Worner tries to get back to half guard but can't. Worner slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Bryan working Worner over with strikes. Bryan seems to be looking for submissions.
Bryan moves nicely into side control. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Worner is looking to reverse the position. Worner shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Bryan but Bryan pushes him off and we're back to square one. Bryan throws a lazy right hand but Worner sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily. Worner gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Bryan counters with a nice double leg into side control. Worner won't be happy with that. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Xavier Worner. That's going to take a lot out of him. Both of our modern day gladiators look out of it here - a gruelling 5 rounds of action taking it's toll on them, no doubt. Worner taking a bit of punishment here - Bryan scoring with strikes. Bryan decides to stand back up. Bryan steps back and let's Worner get back to his feet. This has been an exciting period of action! Worner fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
