The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bryant throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Damascus tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Bryant is in Damascus's guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Damascus wants to sweep here but Bryant controlling him for the moment.

Damascus shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Bryant eats them both and turns towards Damascus to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.

and Damascus takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Bryant shoots in looking for a takedown. Damascus tries to sprawl out of it but Bryant keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Damascus manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Bryant drives through and clinches with Damascus against the cage.
Damascus drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bryant gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Bryant has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Damascus avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Damascus is pressed up against the cage. Bryant has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Damascus down to the mat. Damascus avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
