PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Evan Farmer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mance Rayder (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Evan Farmer has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Evan Farmer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mance Rayder!
The judges for this bout are Frank Dennis, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Rayder decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Farmer is trying to control but can't.
Farmer is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
Rayder looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Evan Farmer just wasn't active enough.

Rayder tries to keep at a distance but Farmer has taken the fight into the clinch.

Rayder breaks the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Rayder closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Rayder decides to return to a standing position.

Rayder feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Rayder is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Farmer wants to sweep but no luck.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mance Rayder was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Farmer drives through with a takedown into Rayder's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Rayder is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Rayder working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Farmer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Farmer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rayder is wriggling around but Farmer manages to pass to half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Rayder feints and as Farmer raises his hands in defense, Rayder changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Rayder is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Rayder postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Rayder slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Mance Rayder hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Rayder misses with a body kick.

Farmer looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Rayder keeping moving, preventing Farmer from controlling successfully.
Mance Rayder has got the better of the ground game so far.
Rayder wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Rayder looking for a guillotine here but Farmer defends easily.
Farmer knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rayder on the ground.

Rayder has Farmer pulled in close to control his posture.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Rayder fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Farmer, pushing him back against the cage.
Farmer tries to pull guard but Rayder holds him up against the cage and eventually Farmer drops back down to his feet.
Farmer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Farmer tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Rayder has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Farmer clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!
Rayder lands a shot to the body.
Rayder is looking cool and calm here, just waiting for a good opportunity to attack and finish the fight from this dominant position.
Rayder thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Rayder is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Rayder slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.

Mance Rayder showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Farmer is looking to control Rayder's arms but Rayder gets an underhook and turns him. Now Farmer has his back to the cage.

Rayder has picked Farmer up - he's going for a ride! Rayder dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Rayder in particular looking to stall.

Rayder stands up from mount. Strange move.
A chopping leg kick lands by Farmer.

Rayder gets the takedown into side control.

Rayder stands up and beckons Farmer to his feet.
Rayder has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rayder looks to land a combination but Farmer avoids it well.

Rayder drives through with a takedown into guard.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Mance Rayder comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Rayder has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
