Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Seijuro Akashi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matija Marinic (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Seijuro Akashi has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Seijuro Akashi! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Matija Marinic! The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Winston Alpacca and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Akashi is looking to clinch but Marinic is avoiding it.
Akashi keeps the fight on the outside. Akashi moves into range and clinches up with Marinic. Marinic is trying to force a seperation but Akashi has the dominant position. Marinic will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Akashi up against the cage. Marinic is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage. Marinic working hard to break the clinch. A head punch on the inside from Marinic fails to land. Akashi keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Marinic's efforts to push away. Marinic tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Akashi's elbow.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akashi ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Akashi no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard. Akashi is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Akashi keeping moving, preventing Marinic from controlling successfully. Akashi seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission. Akashi working a defensive guard here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Akashi keeping full guard, as Marinic tries to pass. Marinic is fighting to break Akashi's control of his arms but Akashi is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Marinic misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Akashi closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Akashi lands in his opponent's guard. Marinic wants to stand but Akashi is controlling the position. Marinic working for submissions but it's allowed Akashi to get to half guard.
Akashi wants to get back to his feet.
Akashi wants to lay and pray for a moment but Marinic keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marinic trying to control from the bottom.
Marinic is looking for a sweep. Akashi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. Marinic wants to get back to full guard but Akashi has mounted him! Marinic holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Akashi tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Akashi lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Akashi cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Akashi looking to control but Marinic is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Marinic really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Akashi wants to stand but Marinic is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Marinic is looking to improve his position but Akashi isn't that keen on the idea. Akashi trying to control but Marinic is having none of it. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marinic swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Akashi throws a sloppy head kick and Marinic moves out of range easily. Akashi shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Akashi seems to be looking for submissions.
Marinic wants to control but Akashi is keeping busy and won't allow it. Akashi seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Marinic does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Marinic wants to get back to full guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akashi is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Marinic is looking to improve his position.
Akashi thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Marinic's head. Marinic is trying to maintain the position but Akashi is very close to passing his half guard. Akashi slows the pace down in half guard. Akashi blocks the strikes from Marinic.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Akashi is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Marinic doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Akashi. Marinic is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Marinic wants to get back to full guard but Akashi has mounted him! Marinic is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Marinic tries to reverse the position but Akashi maintains control. Akashi looking to secure an arm triangle but Marinic defends it well. Marinic is trying desperately to improve position. Akashi dominating with strikes here. Marinic is trying to escape the mount.
Akashi wants to control the pace but Marinic is squirming around nicely. Akashi controlling the pace for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marinic is in all sorts of trouble here.
Akashi landing punches. Akashi tries to control but Marinic wriggling away. Marinic tries to lock up and control but Akashi gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Akashi tries to control but Marinic wriggling away. Seijuro Akashi overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Marinic is working to get back to half guard.

Seijuro Akashi dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Marinic feints and as Akashi raises his hands in defense, Marinic changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Akashi is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Akashi wants to sweep here but Marinic controlling him for the moment. Marinic postures up in Akashi's guard and throws a big left but Akashi blocks it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Marinic trying to stand up but can't free himself from Akashi's guard. Marinic trying to control the position from guard on top but Akashi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
That's one minute gone in the round. Akashi has his foot on Marinic's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Marinic works his way back into a safe position though. Marinic stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Akashi swivels though and keeps the full guard. Marinic trying to control but Akashi is working from the bottom.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Matija Marinic. Marinic shoots in for a takedown but Akashi shows good takedown defense. Akashi pivots, looking for a leg kick but Marinic is out of range and Akashi settles back down. Marinic fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Marinic takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Marinic fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marinic tries to close the distance and clinch up but Akashi swats him away and circles back towards the center. Akashi shoots and misses and Marinic makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick. Nice takedown defense from Akashi. No joy for Marinic on that attempt. Seijuro Akashi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Matija Marinic. A looping hook to the body misses from Akashi. Marinic does a little dance to reset his feet. Marinic shoots and misses and Akashi counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Akashi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Nice body punch from Akashi. Marinic has his takedown stuffed and Marinic takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Akashi pushes Marinic up against the cage in a clinch. Akashi keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Marinic's efforts to push away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Akashi gets a trip takedown into half guard. Akashi passes to side control. Akashi controlling the position from side mount. Akashi wants to stand but Marinic has his arm trapped. Akashi working the head and body with strikes. Akashi wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Marinic, who protects the arm well.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Marinic tries to control but Akashi manages to take his back. Marinic has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke. Marinic covering up well under a barage of strikes. Akashi wants to control but Marinic is keeping busy. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Akashi is really struggling to control Marinic but he's trying to hold on to the position. Marinic is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
And that's the end of the fight! Seijuro Akashi showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Akashi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
